Electro-Acoustic

2016

“Electro-Acoustic” is a mechanical sculpture comprised of two discs similar to turntables of 112 cm in diameter. The concept of this creation originated from our modern world where electricity is indispensable. Electricity is a part of the environment. We are inspired by the sound of electricity and its relation to the environment. The noise produced by electric frequency is similar to many natural environmental sounds, so we intended to integrate the sound of electricity with the environment.

In nature, the croaking of frogs, raindrops and the chirping of cicadas happen to be quite close to the frequency sound that electricity sometimes produces. “Electro-Acoustic” uses the percussion noises produced by electricity as the flows pass to simulate all the various noises that are similar to natural sound. Through electricity, we intend to bring natural sounds into this building and let it immerse into the space.
